JUNIOR DANCE INTENSIVE
The JUNIOR DANCE INTENSIVE is a fun and action-packed full day summer program for dancers ages 7-12. Students will participate in fun and inspiring dance classes that promote self-expression, musicality, body awareness and build confidence. The Academy offers students ranging in age and skill level, specialized and safe dance instructions in a welcoming, inclusive, and rewarding learning environment, while supporting their personal growth and individual development. With VAB’s highly qualified teachers, students will experience Ballet, conditioning and stretching classes
No experience is required for Group A students (ages 7-9). Group B students (ages 10-12) must have some previous dance training. Students participate in ballet, jazz, contemporary, character, and stretching classes.

NUTRITION
Students should pack a healthy lunch, snacks, and water each day. Please ensure all food items are nut free as we have staff and students with severe nut allergies.
DEMONSTRATION
Students participating in the Open Division Junior Dance Intensive will have a performance on the Friday of their full week intensive. Friends and family will be invited to see how students have progressed during their time at the Academy. Class schedules may alter on this day. More information will be available closer to the date.
ACTIVITIES
Students will have the opportunity to participate in some fun activities during the week-long intensive. Activities may include a pizza lunch, ice cream truck visit, and games. All activities will be on-site, and all costs are covered in the program fee.
ACCOMMODATION
Visiting students traveling to Victoria must find their own accommodation while participating in the intensive with a parent or guardian present during their stay.
SAFETY & SECURITY
The welfare and of each individual student is our greatest concern. Procedures and responsibilities for fire and emergency safety are clearly reviewed with students each year and evacuation and lock-down drills, equipment testing, and first aid procedures are regularly checked and documented. All staff keep a cell phone on their person for emergencies while in the studio. It is commonplace in Victoria for students to use public transportation to move around the city and to and from their summer accomodation and the studios. Bus tickets and passes are available at several pharmacies and corner shops and can be purchased when they arrive in Victoria.

> MONDAY, AUGUST 18 – FRIDAY, AUGUST 22, 2025
Dancers will participate in Contemporary and Jazz technique, choreography and conditioning classes.
