Foundational Program
Victoria Academy of Ballet offers once per week classes to children, youth and teenage students.
Experts worldwide agree that movement is of primary importance to the intellectual, social, physical and emotional development of young girls and boys. Children who have been exposed to a comprehensive experience of movement and body awareness training are better prepared to master complex learning processes at school by the development of the kinaesthetic experience of dance. As well, body movement and awareness through dance promotes music appreciation, develops imagination, creativity, concentration and self esteem. Curriculum is developmental and focuses on developing small and large motor skills that are age appropriate in a supportive, joyful and encouraging environment.
Classes offered: Group ballet and creative movement/ballet classes offer children a stimulating environment focused on creativity, group interaction and self expression. Balance, Coordination and spatial awareness are developed in a fun atmosphere.
Twinkle Tots (3 years old)
Kinder Ballet (4-5 years old)
Pre-Primary Ballet (5-6 years old)
Primary Ballet (6-7 years old)
Beginner Youth Ballet and Teen Ballet: For students ages 8-18 years old. Beginner ballet classes are taught with patient careful instruction. Each student will build self esteem, confidence and a lasting appreciation of dance.

About the Academy
Victoria Academy of Ballet (formerly Island Dance Studio) was established in 1990 by Christine Richardson F.C.S.C – C.I.C.B., ARAD. Now under the ownership and direction of Bleiddyn Del Villar Bellis, FCSC- CICB, The Victoria Academy of Ballet offers specialized dance instruction for children ages 3 through to the professional level. Facilites
In September 2014, The Victoria Academy of Ballet moved into a new facility in downtown Victoria BC. The studios are located in the in the city centre, conveniently located for easy bus transportation, coffee shops, restaurants and shopping. More Info

The Victoria Academy of Ballet welcomes students from around the world to participate in all of the Victoria Academy of Ballet Dance Programs. More Info
Scholarship Information
The Victoria Academy of Ballet Scholarship Society was incorporated in the summer of 2013 and achieved Charitable Status in July 2014. The goals of the society are to provide deserving Canadian/Permanent Resident dance students with scholarships and bursaries to assist with the cost of their dance education. More Info
