Open Division: Full-Year Classes
LEVEL 1
About Level 1.
Ages 7-8 (age is as of September 2022)
Level 1 classes focus on learning correct body alignment, further developing musicality and rhythm, and increasing strength, flexibility, and balance. Students are evaluated through observation, checking for understanding, in-class activities to demonstrate learning, and discussion. A more formal approach and technical structure is applied to classes as the students mature and gain technical prowess. Our Level 1 classes run September to June.
Students in Level 1 must take the Base Program ballet in order to be eligible to take the following Add-On Classes:
Level 1 Add-On Classes:
Jazz: Students may choose to add the Level 1 Jazz class, which expands their dance vocabulary and further develops rhythm and expression. This class is a performance class.
Ballet: The Level 1 Add-On ballet class allows students to accelerate their ballet training. This class is a performance class.

TUESDAY: 4:00-5:00 PM
Level 1 Ballet
SATURDAY: 9:00-10:00 AM
Level 1 Jazz Add-On
SATURDAY: 10:00-11:00 AM
*PLEASE NOTE: Students in Level 1 are only required to take one ballet class (Tuesday OR Saturday). Students may choose to take the other Level 1 ballet class as an add-on class.

+ 2 ADD-ON CLASSES- Students may take the two Level 1 Ballet classes AND the Level 1 Add-On Jazz class.
