Tuition is due in full at the time of registration. However, in an attempt to make tuition payments more convenient for families in full-year classes, VAB parents or students may be eligible to arrange a monthly payment option with the school. The monthly tuition payments are split into equal payments across 10 months no matter how many classes there are per month. These payment methods are available only to families whose accounts are in good standing and who do not have a history of missed or NSF payments. Any outstanding balance owing from previous years or terms must be paid in full before registration is accepted for any future dance season. An NSF fee of $25 is due for every bounced cheque/payment.

VAB collects Recital Package fees for all students participating in recital performance classes. Students will receive a High Definition link of the CELEBRATION OF DANCE Recital, a commemorative VAB T-SHIRT and purchase of their recital costume. Additional costume fees will apply to students enrolled in ‘ADD-ON’ classes.

ALL RECITAL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE.

FOR KINDER, PRE-PRIMARY & PRIMARY CLASSES

$160 Recital Package fee is due November 1, 2024. If enrolled in additional ‘ADD-ON’ performance classes, an additional $95 costume fee (per class) will be due on February 1, 2025. Post-dated cheque payments must be submitted at the time of registration.

FOR LEVEL 1 & 2 CLASSES

FOR LEVEL 3 – SENIOR OPEN DIVISION CLASSES

$180 Recital Package fee is due November 1, 2024. If enrolled in additional ‘ADD-ON’ performance classes, an additional $110 costume fee (per class) will be due on February 1, 2025. Post-dated cheque payments must be submitted at the time of registration.

PLEASE NOTE:

Youth Company students will be billed for costume and festival fees separately from the Recital Package fees.

Recital Packages are only for students enrolled in performance classes. Students in Sessional Classes are not eligible to receive a Recital Package.

An institution must refund all of the tuition and related fees, other than application fees, for a program that has tuition of $4,000 or more and does not require approval if:

• The student does not attend the program, and
• The institution receives from the student a notice of withdrawal or a copy of refusal of a study permit no later than 30 days after the later of:
  1. the start date of the program in the most recent letter of acceptance
  2. the start date of the program in the enrolment contract

The institution must refund the student within 30 days of receiving a notice of withdrawal or a copy of refusal of a study permit, as applicable.

*Please note: the above refund policy is applicable ONLY to those students with a yearly tuition total of $4,000 or more.

In all other circumstances, VAB requires one full month’s written notice of withdrawal, and the remaining months of tuition will be reimbursed (if pre-paid) or monthly payments will be cancelled. This excludes the initial payment for September and June, which is non-refundable.

The Registration fee, Recital Package fees, and additional costume fees (if applicable) are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Students who are asked to withdraw due to a violation of school or program rules will receive no refund. After 30 days into a program, all fees up to and including June are owed in full.

If the student owes tuition or other fees to the school, the VAB Office will undertake the collection of the amount owing. Overdue accounts will be assessed interest charges of 1.5% per month (18% per annum) after 30 days.

Upon withdrawal from VAB’s Homestay Program, fees for the following will be owed regardless of the reason for cancellation:

• Homestay coordination fee is non-refundable.
• Homestay Accommodation fee for the month of June is non-refundable.
• If needing to withdraw from VAB’s Homestay Program, one full month’s written notice will be required and one additional month of Homestay Accommodation fee will be due.
