Luisa María Díaz González

Come and join our Audtions taught by Ms. Luisa María Díaz González / Principal Dancer, Choreographer and International Teacher.

 

Luisa María Díaz González is the only Mexican dancer who finished her dance studies at the Paris Opera School, National Youth Award, she has an University Degree in Dance, an University degree in Philosophy, Master degree in Creative writing and Literature, Master degree in Dance Research with Honorific Mention, PHD/Doctoral Degree in Education specialized on dance with Honorific Mention and the and Recognition of Academic Merit. She is a Registered teacher Licenciate of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing of London.

Former Principal Dancer of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, chosen by Maurice Béjart, at the age 17 to dance the principal roles in various theatres of the world such as the Paris Opera, Scala de Milan Theatre, La Fenice Theatre, Mariinski Theatre (Kirov Theatre), Bolshoi Theatre, Liceu Theatre, Theatre Real de Madrid, Dionisio’s Theatre, Bunka Kaikan Tokyo Theatre, National Theatre of China, among others in 134 cities of 31 countries, in four continents, during twelve years. She also danced principal rols with the Bayerisches Staatsballett in Munich, the West Autralian Ballet and the New York City Ballet.
Winner of three Gold Medals at the National Dance Competition of México in 1995, 1996 and 1997 with honors; Golden Medal at the National Institute of Dance at the Salle Pleyel, 2000; she received the award Danza e Danza of Italy, 2001; National Youth Award, 2001; Arlequín Award for the Best of Dance in 2014; Arlequín Award, 2018 for her choreographies Metempsicosis, and Beauty and the Beast, among other national and international awards. She has been jury of the National Youth Award, 2002 and jury of the scholarships Scenic Creators 2022 of FONCA.

Luisa Díaz is an international ballet teacher and choreographer; she has taught professional dancers and also teachers. She has taught master lessons in multiple states of the Mexican Republic and in other countries like United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, United States, Japan and Indonesia. She has created more than 100 choreographies that have been presented at important theaters in México like Palacio de Bellas Artes and abroad.
She was artistic director, producer and founder of the international dance competition Prix de Guadalajara Luisa Díaz 2018 and 2019. At the moment she is director and teacher at Luisa Díaz Ballet and Dance Academy and general director, founder and producer of the international dance competition Prix de la Danse Luisa Díaz Ciudad de México 2021, 2022 and 2023.

VOCATIONAL DIVISION

VAB’s highly sought-after students are routinely offered positions in professional dance companies worldwide. Acceptance into VAB’s Vocational Division programs is by audition only.

OPEN DIVISION INTERNATIONAL

VAB’s International Open Division International provides first-class, customized dance training to students who are seeking artistic and academic excellence. Whether students come to Canada for a cultural experience and join VAB as an extracurricular activity, or desire intensive dance training in the evenings while pursuing their academic education, each student will receive an individualized program to ensure their personal goals are met. Starting the season with the Open Division Dance Intensive during the summer months is recommended. Canada’s education system is globally renowned, has one of the strongest rates of student’s achievement in the world, and often leads to international opportunities. As Canada ranks 3rd among 15 of its wealthiest peers, this is an excellent choice for a high school education.
