About Level 5.

Ages 11-13

Level 5 is part of our General Program and focuses on continuing to develop strong ballet technique as students begin to mature. Students are evaluated through observation, checking for understand­ing, in-class activities to demonstrate learning, and discussion.  A more formal approach and technical structure is applied to classes as students gain technical prowess. Our Level 5 classes run September to June.

Students in Level 5 must take the two Base Program ballet classes in order to be eligible to take the following Add-On Classes:

Level 5 Add-On Classes:

Ballet: The add-on ballet allows students to accelerate their ballet training and technique. This is a technique class, and does not include a performance.

Pointe/Mens Work: Students are strongly encouraged to take the Pointe/Men’s work class to continue their ballet progression.

Jazz: Students may choose to add the Level 5 Jazz class, which expands their dance vocabulary and helps develop greater strength in movement. This is a performance class.

Contemporary: Students at Level 5 are able to take contemporary, which nicely compliments their ballet training. Contemporary techniques focus on release, breath, and a more mature self expression. This is a performance class.
