LEVELS 8 & 9
OVERVIEW
Level 8 & 9 classes focus on strong ballet technique as students mature and advance through their dance training. Students are evaluated through observation, checking for understanding, in-class activities to demonstrate learning, and discussion.
Students in Levels 8 & 9 must take the two mandatory Base Program ballet classes in order to be eligible to take add-on classes.

Mandatory Base Program
> LEVEL 8 & 9 BALLET
Thursday 6:30pm – 8:00pm & Friday 6:30pm – 8:30pm
*Level 8 & 9 Ballet includes pointe, mens work and character.
Optional ADD-ON Classes
> LEVEL 8 & 9 BALLET – Saturday 11:30am – 1:00pm
> LEVEL 8 & 9 JAZZ – Wednesday 3:45pm – 5:15pm
> LEVEL 8 & 9 CONTEMPORARY – Saturday 1:00pm – 2:30pm
> BLAZE YOUTH COMPANY – Saturday 2:45pm – 4:15pm – Requirements: Base Program + 1 add on class.
> PROFESSIONAL PREPATORY STREAM – Tuesday 4:00pm – 6:45pm – Professional Prepatory Stream students do the full level program, including all add ons & Youth Company.

UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS
BLAZE YOUTH COMPANY
Students taking the Level 8 & 9 Base Program classes and a minimum of ONE add on class are eligible to enroll in our Blaze Youth Company. VAB’s Youth Company is for dedicated students looking to accelerate their training and join a team of like-minded peers. Youth Company members have class once a week on Saturday afternoons where they learn choreography for local performances and events. Students get the opportunity to participate in festivals, parades, holiday parties, workshops, and a dance photoshoot. Members also receive an exclusive Youth Company tracksuit.
