Community Classes

Community classes run for 6-12 week sessions and are a great way to explore an interest in dance, without committing to a full season. Please note, our community classes are not performance classes, and do not include a performance in our annual Celebration of Dance.

Foundational Classes

Ages 4-7

Foundational Classes focus on inspiring students and instilling a love for music, dance, and self-expression. These classes prepare students to move to higher levels of dance exploration in the General Program. Please note, our Foundational Classes run for a full season, September to June, and include a performance in our annual Celebration of Dance in May.

General Program Classes

Ages 7-18

General Program classes are for students looking to dance recreationally with highly trained, award-winning faculty. As students progress through the levels, an increasingly more formal approach and technical structure is applied using the Cecchetti Method. General Program classes run for a full season, September to June, with a performance in our annual Celebration of Dance in May.

Open Classes

Ages 14+

Open Classes are for senior students interested in taking additional classes, or only taking open classes without the base program of required ballet classes. Students must have at least 5 years of training in the class style. If you have any questions about if you are eligible for Open Classes, please contact admissions@vaballet.ca.

*If you are a VAB Level 7 or 8 student, Open Classes will be available as Add-On Classes on your Level’s registration form.
